Internet connections are made over a standard telephone or ISDN line. You will need a modem if you choose to use a telephone line and a terminal adapter for an ISDN line.

Dialup services enable individuals and businesses to connect to the Internet using analog modems. Most computers today are built with 56k modems.

ISDN stands for Integrated Services Digital Network, and offers higher speed access (64kbps and 128kbps) to the Internet than analog dialup modems, especially if you cannot get DSL in your area.

Multi-user ISDN (or routed ISDN) is used to provide Internet access to your company's existing local area network (LAN). A router (which plugs directly into your LAN) is used to automatically establish a connection with WorldSpice whenever a workstation on your LAN requests access to the Internet.
