Setting Up Your Email Account in Outlook 2000These instructions will help you setup your WorldSpice email account in Microsoft Outlook 2000, which is a part of Microsoft Office 2000. WorldSpice customers' email addresses end in one of the following four domains:
Locating Account ConfigurationFirst it is necessary to determine if Outlook 2000 has been setup in Internet Mail mode or Corporate/Workgroup Mode. Go to the Tools menu and look for either Accounts or Services. If you see Accounts, Outlook 2000 has been setup in Internet Mail mode. Select Accounts and click here to continue. If you see Services, Outlook 2000 has been setup in Corporate/Workgroup mode. Select Services and click here to continue.
Outlook 2000 in Internet Mail ModeDeleting Old AccountsIt may be helpful to delete old and incorrectly configured email accounts before adding new ones. To do so, first go to the Mail tab in the Internet accounts window. Select the account you want to delete by clicking on it, then click the Remove button.
Creating a New AccountIn the Internet Accounts window, click the Add button and select Mail.
The wizard begins by asking for your name. Enter your real name here. When you email other people, this is the name they will see in the "From" line of your messages. Click Next.
The wizard next asks you for your email address. Type your complete email address and click Next.
Select POP3 server in the dropdown. For Incoming mail (POP3) server:
For Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:
The wizard next asks you for the Account name (also known as your username) and password. If your email address ends in mem.net, your username is your full email address, i.e. username@mem.net. Otherwise, do not use your full email address as your username. Enter your password in the Password box. Check the Remember password checkbox. Make sure that Log on using Secure Password Authentication is not checked. Click Next.
The wizard will ask you how you connect to the Internet. These instructions assume you have a dial-up account with WorldSpice. Select Connect using my phone line and click Next.
Select Use an existing dial-up connection and then select your dial-up connection in the list. Click Next.
Click Finish.
You should now be able to check your mail by clicking the Send/Recv button on the toolbar.
Outlook 2000 in Corporate/Workgroup ModeDeleting Old AccountsIt may be helpful to delete old and incorrectly configured email accounts before adding new ones. To do so, on the Services tab in the Services window, select the account you want to delete by clicking on it, then click the Remove button.
Creating a New AccountOn the Services tab, click the Add button.
Select Internet E-mail from the list and click OK.
The Properties window opens. Select the General tab at the top of the window if it is not already selected. You will see the instructions "Type the name by which you would like to refer to these servers". Type WorldSpice. For Name enter your real name. When you email other people, this is the name they will see in the "From" line of your messages. In the space for E-mail address type your complete email address.
Select the Servers tab at the top of the window. For Incoming mail (POP3):

Select the Connection tab at the top of the window. These instructions assume you have a dial-up account with WorldSpice. Select Connect using my phone line. Under Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection, select your dial-up connection in the list.
Select the Advanced tab at the top of the window. Make sure that the settings you see are the same as the ones below. Click the OK button.
You will see the new account you created in the list on the Services tab. Click the OK button.
You should now be able to check your mail by clicking the Send/Recv button on the toolbar.
